Be a part of a dynamic group of Members that make up the Wetaskiwin & District Chamber of Commerce. Participation is key to making contacts in the business community and we encourage you to get involved with any or all of the various programs the Chamber has to offer.

The advantage of being a Chamber Member is not only the networking opportunities, but the many benefits made available to you. With a growing business community, the benefits of Membership will continue to grow; below is a listing of current benefits.

  • Alberta Chambers of Commerce Value-Added

  • Board Room Rentals:
    Chamber Members receive a discounted rate on Board Room Rentals.

  • Brochure & Business Card Display:
    To assist us with the "Just Ask Us" Program (see below), we make available to the visiting public Member brochures and business cards. We have 72 business card spots and 42 brochure spots available to our Members on a first come, first served basis.

  • "Just Ask Us" Program:
    The Chamber receives approximately 1000 phone calls (monthly), 5000 walk-in visitors (yearly) and numerous emails in which there are many requests for referrals to products and services. Every effort is made to promote Member businesses.

  • Marketing & Sponsorship Opportunities:
    Receive recognition and promote your business by participating in one of the many marketing opportunities or by sponsoring a Chamber event.

  • Monthly Newsletter:
    Once a month (September through June) the Chamber runs its Newsletter, "Business Matters!" as a full page ad in the Wetaskiwin Times Advertiser. The newsletter includes general information regarding the Chamber, its Members, upcoming events, announcements and other various topics. The Newsletter is also emailed out to Members who have a current email address listed with the Chamber.

  • Networking Opportunities:
    Programs like BASH, Ladies on the Lake and the monthly Business Luncheons give Members the opportunity to meet new people, network and socialize.

  • Ribbon Cutting/ Grand Openings:
    To support the growth of businesses in the community the Chamber offers assistance in planning commemorative events as well as participation in Member ribbon cuttings. A complimentary service afforded to Members, these services are provided to support milestone events celebrating businesses grand openings, anniversaries, expansions, and other special occasions. If you would like to access this service please contact the Chamber Office.

  • Take the Chamber to Work!:
    One of the newer programs we have started at the Chamber, "Take the Chamber to Work" is a new and fun way to promote and bring recognition to your business. Our Executive Director will come to "work" for you; spending 1 to 3 hours at your place of business learning about your services/products in a hands on way. This exciting new adventure will be chronicled with pictures and an article in the Wetaskiwin Times Advertiser. The plan is to run this article weekly (September through June); however it is on a voluntary sign up basis, first come, first served.

  • Voting Privileges:
    As a Member, you may nominate and vote for Members of the Board of Directors. From time to time, certain issues, such as changes to by-laws will be voted upon by the Membership.

  • Website:
    Members receive a free listing on our website, including a link to their website (if applicable). A regular feature on our website is a featured Chamber Members updated regularily.
